Did Sony kill Ape Escape?

Ape Escape was first released in 1999 for the original PlayStation, and was known for making the Dualshock Mandatory. It was a huge success, and became one of the Greatest hits in the US! It also had sequels for the PS2, Ape Escape 2 and 3. It also had lots of spinoffs and party games, however most spin offs where japan ONLY. Almost every single Ape Escape game was a critical success, however in 2010, Sony released a new AE Game called Playstation Move Ape Escape for the PS3, which was a huge letdown to fans of the series.

Ape Escape (Playstation Move)

The game was horrible. They FORCED you to use the PlayStation Move( Which is similar to a Wii Remote) and not a Dualshock. It was also an On-rails FPS(First Person Shooter) while the other main games where third person platforming.

Sony did great with the original AE Games, but why did they have to ruin the series with the newest one? Only Sony knows the answer. In my honest opinion, I think Sony should sell the franchise to Nintendo, however, considering Sony and Nintendo's relationship,

Ape Escape 3
Do you think that Sony killed Ape Escape with the new game? Amd Should they sell the IP to Nintendo?
